‘I'm hoping that this vote will change everything, and that my vote will make the difference.’

Julia Smith

Age: 66

Neighborhood: Kensington

Why are you voting?

The presidential election is the most important thing for me. It’s crucial because of the conditions that we’ve lived in for the past four years. I refuse to live like that again. I’m hoping that this vote will change everything, and that my vote will make the difference. That’s why I’m voting today.

What presidential platform policies or issues are most important to you?

I’m not pro-life or pro-choice, but I feel that people should do whatever it is that they need to do, because that’s their life and nobody else can tell them how to live it out. I’m also interested in the current immigration situation. Immigration issues really did get to me, because I think those children [who were separated from their parents] don’t deserve that. I think they deserve better. I think we all deserve better.
