Kensington Voice would like to sincerely apologize for an employee who broke our own event rules during our election forum on May 8 at McPherson Square Library.

Unfortunately, a Kensington Voice staff member interrupted the event halfway through to publicly address Mr. Jeff Brown without our knowledge or permission. Despite stepping in to de-escalate the situation, we regret not intervening sooner.

We terminated the employee who violated our organization’s professional and ethical standards. We also contacted the candidates with an apology. Additionally, we are reviewing our policies to prevent incidents like this from happening in the future.

We thank everyone who attended, and we hope the Kensington community and other stakeholders will continue engaging with us in conversations like this moving forward.
