FREE RESOURCE: Level the Playing Field collects and donates new and gently-used sports and playground equipment to local youth sports communities in Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Washington, D.C. To get involved or receive equipment, click here.

WATER BILL ASSISTANCE: The Philadelphia Water Department resumed water shutoffs on May 31, 2023 after a winter pause. Need help paying your bill? Apply for assistance or make a payment plan by visiting water.phila.gov or call 215- 685-6300.

FREE SUMMER MEALS: Nutritional Development Services (NDS) provides youth programs with free breakfast and lunch from June 14 to Aug. 25. To register, call the NDS office at 215-895-3470, option 1.

GARDENING: The Kensington Corridor Trust has open community garden hours on Tuesdays from now through Aug. 21 from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at 3236 Kensington Ave.

KENSINGTON VOICE: Our latest art contest was an opportunity for community members to show their neighborhood vision to those in or running for elected office in Philly. Check out the winning artwork here.

COMMUNITY MEETING: The Harrowgate Civic Association meets this Thursday (and the first Thursday of every month) at 6 p.m. at Heitzman Recreation Center.

COMMUNITY EVENT: Kensington Library is hosting a Block Party & Mutual Aid Fair outside the library (104 W Dauphin St.) this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

COMMUNITY CONCERT: Ride Free is hosting a Stop The Violence Block Tour with McPherson Square Library this Saturday. There will be a free concert, career networking, and food on E Street and Indiana Avenue.

KENSINGTON VOICE: Kensington CAPA students and brothers, Elian and Sebastian Fana Rosario, wrote personal essays about their experiences in the United States and the Dominican Republic. JOBS: There are open positions at Flip Out Productions, NKCDC, and Congreso.

COMMUNITY MEETING: Somerset Neighbors for Better Living meets next Monday, June 5 virtually on Zoom. To register, click here.

COMMUNITY MEETING: Friends of McPherson and the Kensington Neighbors Association will host a joint meeting next Tuesday, June 6 from 6-7 p.m. at McPherson Square Library. Neighbors can also join virtually by emailing mgonzalez@impactservices.org.

VETERANS FAIR: Impact Services, Vet Center, and the U.S Department of Veterans Affairs are hosting a career and resource fair at Campbell Square Park next Saturday, June 10 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

FUNDRAISER: Kensington Health Sciences Academy students are fundraising to travel and compete in the HOSA international leadership conference in Dallas, TX from June 21-24. Support them at gofund.me/eb12513e.
