About us
We're Kensington Voice, a nonprofit community hub and newsroom serving North Philly’s Fairhill, Harrowgate, Kensington, Norris Square, and Port Richmond neighborhoods. We are fiscally sponsored by the Federation of Neighborhood Centers (EIN 23-1630073).
The beliefs that guide our work
We believe that no person deserves to be left behind but that everyone has a voice to change the systems that leave them there. We also believe the best way to promote system-wide change is to prioritize the needs of everyday people in our communities.
The mission we're on
Through everything we do, we aim to engage the people we serve in opportunities to exercise their voices. We do this to positively impact their attitudes and emotions, relationships, communities, and society.
The model we've created
Our unique model pairs direct services with journalism. Community engagement is the connective tissue that binds and guides our work.
The impact we've made
Since August 2018, we have reached more than 200,000 unique individuals via our community engagement, direct services, and journalism.

We envision a world in which all people and all communities receive what they need to thrive, regardless of their circumstances.
